Night Shift Manager responsible for overseeing all overnight store operations, ensuring the store is ready for customers by morning.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities across the store, prioritise deliveries, organise the warehouse, and replenish shelves.
- Operate a full store shift independently, managing safety and wellbeing of colleagues.
- Ensure standards are excellent at the start of the day so the store is ready to serve customers.
- Manage people: performance, capability, conduct disciplinary actions, and ensure accurate scheduling and pay.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for the team during night shifts.
- Monitor, deliver, and track key performance indicators such as sales, availability, customer satisfaction, and colleague engagement.
- Handle employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
- Operate and lead independently when senior management is not present.
- Promote and embed inclusivity across all aspects of team management.
Qualifications
- Comfortable with night shift work and able to adapt to its physical and mental demands.
- Previous line‑management experience in a fast‑paced, operational environment.
- Demonstrated resilience to the demands of night work.
- Track record of delivering excellent customer service and coaching others to do the same.
- Experience leading a team in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment, motivating performance and maintaining smooth operations.
- Operational leadership skills with responsibility for store operations in the absence of senior managers.
- Success in meeting or exceeding KPIs across sales, availability, customer satisfaction, or colleague engagement.
- Capability to manage disciplinary and performance issues.
- Desirable: experience with night shifts in a high‑volume environment and ability to create a supportive atmosphere during out‑of‑hours trading.
