In this role you will lead the Clothing technology programme, shaping the engineering capability behind Clothing planning and supply chain tech. You’ll partner with Product, Architecture, Data, and business teams to translate strategy into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multi-skilled engineering team across the Clothing programme
- Establish clear engineering ownership from design to operation
- Translate business outcomes into technical priorities and an executable roadmap
- Shape engineering approaches as design moves to delivery, ensuring scalability and resilience
- Coach engineers and foster an inclusive, high-performance environment
- Own engineering outcomes end-to-end across dependencies (apps, integrations, data, testing, operations)
- Provide technical leadership across internal teams and strategic partners
- Champion engineering practices: automation, CI/CD, observability, automated testing, secure engineering, API and event-driven design
- Drive quality culture by considering non-functional requirements from the start
- Explore and embed AI-enabled practices to improve productivity and decision-making
- Identify opportunities where emerging tech and AI could simplify processes or enable new capabilities
- Manage multiple priorities and align delivery with customer/business outcomes
- Contribute to engineering workforce planning, recruitment, and capability development
- Oversee initiative budgets and supplier activity with governance and risk controls
- Ensure governance, standards, and operational controls are embedded throughout delivery
Key requirements
- Experience building and leading engineering teams with coaching, performance management, and capability development
- Proven delivery of complex end-to-end technology solutions, including large-scale transformations
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering: APIs, event-driven/distributed architectures, cloud, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, resilience, SaaS/enterprise platforms, and data/integration landscapes
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate options to technical and non-technical audiences, plus working with third-party suppliers
- Experience or strong understanding of AI and emerging tech, including embedding AI within engineering and product teams
