Our Hydraulics Team plays a critical role in ensuring our high-performance F50 racing boats are ready to deliver on the water.

We’re looking for technically skilled, hands-on individuals to join the team in a unique dual role: working both onsite at our Sail GP Technologies facility in Southampton and travelling worldwide as part of the Sail GP Tour.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong trade or mechanical experience who wants to apply their skills in a fast-paced, high-performance sporting environment.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with regatta setup and pack down (containers, tents etc)
  • Assist teams with board and rudder changes and other equipment changes
  • Assisting in ensuring the equipment onboard the F50 is one design
  • Assist with the continual maintenance and development of the underwater appendages
  • Assisting with maintaining paintwork on all F50’s.
  • Assisting the team with paint rebrands.
  • When not on tour, being part of the Sail GP Technologies paint squad in Southampton including painting and fairing boats, foils and component work.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Requirements
  • Support the organising materials needed for each event.
  • Keeping all areas tidy
  • Responsible for keeping all tools up to a standard for use.
  • Fulfilling all work needed where possible on a foil front to have a successful event.

About you: We’re not looking for decades of experience, but you’ll need to bring a strong foundation of technical trade skills, the right mindset, and a willingness to learn.

  • Practical skills with tools and hands-on build/repair work.
  • A good team work ethic, helping other team members at any given opportunity.
  • Knowledge of marine filler and paint systems, experience with paint repairs
  • A team player – personable, professional, and able to represent Sail GP well.
  • Flexible and happy to travel extensively as part of a global sports tour.
  • A positive can-do attitude: prepared to work hard and deliver, wherever needed.
