Role Summary
The primary responsibility of the Deputy Head of Boatbuilding is to act as the crucial link between the ongoing events and the UK Facility. This role will ensure seamless operations, covering all aspects from personnel management and work prioritisation to inventory control and financial oversight. The Deputy Head of Boatbuilding will be instrumental in coordinating staff deployment, translating event-specific needs into actionable job lists for the facility, identifying and procuring necessary spare parts, and managing the allocated budget to support both event demands and facility capabilities.
- Pre-Event
- Work on any required projects from SailGP Technologies
- Work with SailGP Technologies leadership team on the required workforce for the upcoming events
- Assist with planning project timelines
- Assist with any required quotes for projects
- Procurement of all required equipment, tools and consumables for required projects
- Following up on the delivery of parts and equipment procured for any upcoming projects
- Planning and schedule of testing, repairs & development proposals within the Boat Building Department projects
- During The Event
- Coordination of the unpack of Workshop Containers in preparation for the event
- Preparation of all operational equipment pre F50 boat assembly
- Helps lead the boat building department workforce
- Responsible for all resource management and day to day team organisation
- Upskill and train individuals
- Preparation of On Water Spares for Tech Support on Mothership
- Continuously tracks all consumables used during an event
- Responsible for all recording breakages
- Responsible for recording all repairs
- Maintains regular stock takes
- Inventory system tracking in Boat building, Dangerous Goods and Spares workshop containers
- Be involved in communication with the event HOD group regarding communal department projects
- Strong communications with leads to have full overview of workflow and outstanding joblist
- Post Event
- Work on any required projects from SailGP Technologies
- Assist with event related damage and repairs
- Responsible for required boat building related parts and spares for the events
- Assist with any required quotes for team charges and repair cost from damage incurred at the events
- Assisting HoD as and when required
