Role Summary: Reporting into your Team Leader, as Composite Technician (Boat Builder) you will have knowledge and experience in all aspects of composite boat building and strive to work to the highest of standards, delivering consistent quality, whilst working to time-critical targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand production drawing and follow part specifications with precision.
- To build and assemble carbon fibre structural components with a highest degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Practical knowledge in all areas of composite boat building including mould/pattern making, construction and assembly, trimming, fitting and bonding processes.
- Laminating to a high standard in prepreg, wet lay up, secondary bonding and core bonding or multiple core materials including - Nomex, Alu core, Rohacell, Core cell etc.
- Skilled use of hand and power tools and confident use of table saw, band saw, chop saw, sanding wheels, with competency in the use of carpentry and boatbuilding machinery.
- Confident to work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
- Managing and maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment at all times.
- Support the management of a sub team and meet deadlines, supporting and mentoring team members as required to help create a strong workforce at SailGP Technologies.
- Train and upskill individuals inline with SailGP Technologies standards.
- Provides advice and guidance within the roles area of expertise.
