Summary:

We are looking for a Senior People Partner with a key focus on talent development to join our People Team. This is a hands on and strategic role, working closely with the Head of People to support talent management, manager capability and organisational effectiveness across the business.

The role will partner with senior managers and leaders to ensure our teams are set up to deliver against SailGP’s strategic objectives. You will provide practical, commercial and people focused support across talent, performance, employee relations, learning and development, engagement and change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively partner with leaders and managers on people priorities, navigating team challenges, change activity and evolving our ways of working.
  • Empower and build manager capability across areas including performance, feedback, absence, engagement and difficult conversations.
  • Proactively identify people issues, trends and risks that may affect business performance, and work with key stakeholders to develop practical solutions.
  • Spot and cultivate talent, while identifying capability gaps, succession risks and retention concerns across the business.
  • Support the development and delivery of engaging and practical L&D, manager development, talent and performance initiatives alongside the Head of People.
  • Lead practical learning and development initiatives that build capability across the business.
  • Act as a trusted escalation point for complex employee relations or sensitive people matters.
  • Coach and inspire two People Advisors to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to advice and support.
  • Drive seamless day to day People Operations, ensuring core people processes, systems, policies and employee lifecycle activities are delivered accurately, consistently and efficiently.
  • Use people data, feedback and business insight to identify trends, diagnose root causes and recommend forward-thinking action.
  • Grow and elevate capability within the People Team, enabling team members to broaden their HR experience across areas such as L&D, engagement, performance, talent and reward.
  • Champion SailGP values and actively contributes to a vibrant, inclusive and high-performance culture.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in a People Partner or Senior People Partner role.
  • Experience supporting a business through growth, change and transformation.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including complex case management.
  • Experience designing or delivering talent, capability, performance or manager development initiatives.
  • Confident partnering with senior leaders and able to constructively challenge where needed.
  • Strong understanding of manager capability, performance management, succession planning and workforce planning.
  • Experience supporting global, cross-border teams and navigating diverse regional dynamics.
  • Background in event-driven environments managing a mix of permanent staff, contractors, and freelancers.
  • Track record of coaching and elevating junior HR team members to build internal capability.
  • Experience embedding culture and well-being initiatives that translate from the desk to the field.
  • Commercially aware, pragmatic and able to balance business needs with employee experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Strong coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to identify trends, diagnose root causes and turn insight into practical action.
  • Experience using HR systems, people data and reporting to inform decisions.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience preferred.

Location:

SailGP HQ in London, United Kingdom. Hybrid working model with a minimum of three days per week in the London office. We encourage additional office attendance where possible to support collaboration, team connection, and business needs.
