Job Summary

We're seeking a talented and highly motivated Finance Manager to cover who will take charge of the finance function for Sail GP’s Shared Service and Central Function departments.

The successful individual will have strong analytical, communication and technology skills and an ability to think outside the box to solve the financial challenges facing this young company.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Stakeholders

To business partner with key individuals across Shared Service and Central Function departments, which include:

  • Regular check-ins,
  • Reporting on department financial performance,
  • Understanding opportunity and risks to the budget, and
  • Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis requests.
  • To support the regular and timely monthly reporting requirements which include:
  • Actual to budget variance performance,
  • Contribute to management and board level reporting as required,
  • Manage and support tech team personnel planning,
  • Financial analysis on key performance indicators such as technical operations workforce planning,
  • Review and consolidate annual budgets, and
  • Business casing/modelling for ad-hoc project requests.

To support the financial accounting processes including

  • Responsibility for month-end department accruals,
  • Month-end balance sheet reconciliations, and
  • Reviewing month-end allocation journals.
  • To lead and manage Sail GP’s insurance portfolio which includes;
  • Point of contract with Sail GP’s insurance brokers,
  • Annual renewals, and
  • Providing adhoc requests for insurance information to the business.
  • External Stakeholders

• Independently owned team reporting requirements, which include

  • Requesting annual financial information and reviewing financial position against cost cap and overall financial sustainability, and
  • Obtaining annual insurance policies to make sure Teams are compliant with the Participation Agreement

• Sail GP reporting requirements to independently owned teams

  • Coordinating and compiling monthly financial reports to be shared with Team CEO’s on all Shared Services,
  • Point of contact with Team stakeholders on the Shared Service policy, and
  • Sharing capital asset lease fee calculations with explanation of new additions with Team CEO’s
  • Background
  • ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualification preferable
  • Ability to learn and use management information systems, experience with Netsuite preferable
  • 3+ years post qualification experience in management accounting, financial accounting and budgeting
  • Experience with multi-jurisdiction and multi-currency would be an asset
  • Experience managing insurance policies and risk requirements
  • Proven experience managing the budget process, reporting on variances and cost mitigation is required
