Summary
We are seeking a versatile and ambitious Junior Editor to join our fast-paced production team. This isn’t just a technical role; we are looking for a storyteller who can bring a creative spark to every project. You will be responsible for delivering high-impact short-form content for social and digital platforms, as well as structured, narrative-driven long-form videos. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between pure editing and motion design, bringing a junior to mid-weight After Effects skillset to help elevate our visual output.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Editing: Craft compelling stories across various formats, from 15-second social teasers to full-length broadcast features.
- Motion & Design: Apply a strong creative eye to projects, using After Effects to create slick motion graphics, titles, and visual treatments that align with brand guidelines.
- Broadcast Integration: Act as a vital link to our broadcast operations. This role involves crossing over with the Edit Assistant team, providing essential cover for broadcasts, managing media workflows, and ensuring technical QC standards are met.
- Creative Collaboration: Take direction from Seniors and Producers while proactively suggesting creative transitions, pacing, and music choices to improve the final product.
Technical Experience
- Demonstrated experience in delivering both creative short-form (high-energy, punchy) and long-form (pacing, structure) video content.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and a mid-weight understanding of After Effects. You should be comfortable with keyframing, masking, and basic compositing.
- A strong grasp of layout, typography, and color theory. We want someone who "think[s] like a designer" while they edit.
- Experience with (or a strong desire to learn) broadcast delivery specs, server management, and live gallery support.
- The ability to pivot from a high-concept creative edit one day to technical Edit Assistant support the next.
Key Expectations
- Live SailGP's values and contribute to a positive culture.
- Champion an inclusive environment where diversity is valued.
About You
- Appreciation for accuracy and pays close attention to detail when handling key information.
- Proficient organizational, prioritization, communication and administrative skills.
- Able to communicate confidently and adapt communication style according to the needs of the stakeholder.
- Able to work independently but values working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Works effectively and enjoys a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to exceed expectations.
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across multiple departments (global & local).
