Overview
Hydraulics & Technical Support Technician role at SailGP in Southampton, United Kingdom, with frequent international travel to SailGP events. The position involves supporting the Hydraulics team across the SailGP Tour and the Southampton facility, in a fast-paced, high-performance sporting environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support the SailGP Technologies division in a dual role across the Hydraulics department on the SailGP Tour and the broader team in the Southampton facility.
- Contribute to technical workstreams such as hydraulic systems, daggerboard cases, machining, and composite build/support.
- Help bridge continuity between the Tour and the facility, ensuring knowledge, processes, and equipment flow seamlessly across both.
- Work hands-on with technical builds, maintenance, and repairs – often under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Travel globally with the Tour, supporting live event operations, launch preparation, and on-water support.
About You
- A background in mechanics, fitting, machining, hydraulics, composites, or similar technical trades.
- Practical skills with tools, machinery, and hands-on build/repair work.
- Comfortable using computer software/systems.
- A team player – personable, professional, and able to represent SailGP well.
- Flexible and happy to travel extensively as part of a global sports tour.
- A positive can-do attitude: prepared to work hard and deliver, wherever needed.
