Job Summary
SailGP Technologies is seeking a dynamic and motivated Electronics second in command (2IC). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performance team, supporting the SailGP league both at international events and the SailGP Technologies facility based in Southampton, UK.
Reporting to the Electronics Head of Department, you will play a key role in planning, project management, and department operations, while also providing specialist electronics support across the F50 fleet and related projects. As 2iC, you will act as deputy within the department, ensuring seamless operations in the Head’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced electronics support for F50 platforms and wings, including build, testing, and integration.
- Lead elements of R&D, development, and platform upgrades.
- Oversee procurement and management of spares packages.
- Act as senior technical support at SailGP international events, ensuring build, maintenance, and troubleshooting are delivered to the highest standard.
SailGP Electronics Department Planning
- Support department planning, including staff schedules, job allocation, and workflow management.
- Oversee day-to-day productivity of electronics integration at the SailGP Technologies Southampton facility, UK
Wider SailGP Projects And Integration
- Lead or support broader projects such as autonomous race marks and simulator development, providing planning and technical oversight.

About You
- Proven background in grand prix-level marine electronics with significant hands-on expertise.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments
- Knowledge of wiring standards and hardware (System 25, Raychem, TE, Deutsch, adhesives).
- Willing to travel internationally to support SailGP events.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills; able to represent the department confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated senior level experience across team coordination, project planning, or supervisory roles.
Location: Southampton, UK with frequent international travel to SailGP Events
