Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Clubs & Community Coordinator to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role, you will manage our global sailing club database, coordinate regular communications, and support outreach efforts to strengthen relationships with both new and existing sailing clubs, community groups & more. Additionally, you will oversee Event Community coordinators and the Hype Crew, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining key trackers to keep tasks and communications on track. When an event lacks local resources, you will take the lead in activating on the ground. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in SailGP’s commercial and community engagement efforts while driving the growth of our global sailing community.
Key Responsibilities
- Sailing Club Database and Communications Management
- Database Management & Growth: Take ownership of the global sailing club database and develop it. Ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and effectively segmented for communications. The goal is to grow awareness of SailGP as a global sailing league and in turn drive ticket sales through targeted outreach and incentive programs.
- Global Outreach: Work closely with sailing clubs and community groups around the world to facilitate communications, information sharing, and event promotion, encouraging engagement and attendance at SailGP events.
- Content Creation & Distribution: Develop and send regular communications, updates, and newsletters to sailing clubs globally, ensuring messaging is aligned with SailGP’s brand voice, values, and ticketing strategies.
- Fan Engagement: Work with a wider fan engagement team to distribute fan engagement content that has a level of personalisation for communities. Additionally support the awareness of SailGP+ Monday.com management - all SailGP community activity will be channeled through a CRM platform.
- Global community calendar management: Ensure that key milestones are communicated with each event market.
- Budgeting: Support and manage the community engagement budget in each market, with a lens on utilising spend based on forecasted ticket sales.
- Schools & Universities: Support the integration of the Next Gen Challenge into the community clusters and engage university groups in each market.
- Hype Crew & Volunteer Coordination
- Point of Contact for Hype Crew: Manage and be the primary point of contact for the Hype Crew (a global network of fans, ambassadors, and promoters), coordinating activities, outreach, and ensuring engagement levels are high.
- Community Engagement: Assist in maintaining strong relationships with hype crew members, provide them with marketing materials, and support them in their efforts to promote SailGP events and activities. In key events, the role will also take responsibility for club volunteer recruitment and support.
- National Governing Bodies and Relationship Building
- Club & Community Group Relationships: Support the Head of Commercial and Community Engagement in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with sailing clubs, regional community groups, and grassroots organisations.
- National Governing Bodies: Work closely with national governing bodies for sailing to align efforts and foster communication collaboration. Utilising the governing body databases for outreach.
- Team engagement: Work with SailGP team/s to engage them with opportunities locally and internationally.
- Foiling Communities and other Maritime Events: In certain events, there are opportunities to engage foiling and extreme sports enthusiasts. You will be responsible for gathering key contacts or groups & communicating with them. Where applicable, there are opportunities for SailGP to engage with maritime events and boat shows to boost audience engagement and event promotion.
- Tracker Maintenance and Reporting
- Tracker Management: Maintain and update various tracking systems to ensure timely reporting on club communications, engagement metrics, and ticket sales.
- Data Reporting: Work with the Fan Engagement & Community Coordinator to provide regular updates to the marketing team and senior management on progress, key developments, and performance indicators related to the community and club engagement activities.
