Role Overview

The EPR Compliance TPA will provide day-to-day operational support for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance across the UK and EU. The role is designed for execution-heavy compliance operations: reviewing and tagging product data, preparing declaration files, maintaining vendor and PRO systems, supporting invoice and payment workflows, and helping the team respond to audit remediation requirements and other compliance tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, comfort with high-volume SKU and data review, and the ability to follow compliance SOPs accurately. The TPA will work closely with GNE Compliance, seller-facing operations, product, data, finance, procurement, and external vendors or Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and classify at least 5,000 SKUs per month for EEE / non-EEE and other relevant EPR categories, following agreed SOPs, taxonomy rules, and quality standards.
  • Maintain clear tagging records and escalate uncertain cases with sufficient evidence.
  • Prepare, clean, and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual EPR declaration datasets.
  • Check for missing fields, abnormal values, duplicate records, category inconsistencies, and format issues before data is submitted to vendors, PROs, or internal stakeholders.
  • Support the UK EEE audit remediation plan by preparing evidence packs, reconciling product and declaration data, tracking remediation actions, and helping respond to audit-related follow-ups from internal teams or external parties.
  • Maintain operational records in vendor and PRO systems, including account information, declaration uploads, status tracking, submission confirmations, and issue logs.
  • Ensure system records are consistent with internal trackers.
  • Support EPR-related invoice checks and payment processing by reconciling invoice details against service scope, declaration periods, vendor records, purchase orders, and internal approval requirements.
  • Maintain trackers, dashboards, and working logs for classification progress, declaration readiness, vendor submissions, audit remediation status, invoice status, blockers, and open actions.
  • Support additional EPR compliance operations as required, including data sampling, SOP updates, seller or internal case checks, regulatory evidence collation, and process improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in operations, compliance operations, data processing, business process outsourcing, seller operations, customer support operations, or a similar execution-focused role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to process high-volume product, transaction, or compliance data accurately.
  • Good Excel / spreadsheet skills, including filtering, lookup functions, pivot tables, data validation, and structured tracker maintenance.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, apply classification rules consistently, and document assumptions or edge cases clearly.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong advantage, and bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Good written communication skills; able to summarise issues, blockers, and data findings clearly for internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort working with multiple systems, trackers, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong ownership mindset, reliable follow-through, and willingness to handle repetitive operational tasks with consistent quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPR, WEEE, packaging, batteries, environmental compliance, product compliance, marketplace compliance, or cross-border e-commerce operations.
  • Experience with SKU classification, catalogue review, product taxonomy tagging, data annotation, or BPO-style quality review workflows.
  • Experience preparing regulatory, financial, vendor, or audit-support datasets on a monthly, quarterly, or annual cadence.
  • Familiarity with vendor portals, PRO systems, procurement workflows, invoice reconciliation, purchase orders, or payment approval processes.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Python, or other data tools is a plus, but not required if the candidate has strong spreadsheet and operational data skills.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across the UK, EU, China, or other international markets.

Success Measures

  • Product classification and tagging tasks are completed on time, with clear evidence trails and low rework rate.
  • Declaration datasets are clean, complete, and ready for internal review or vendor / PRO submission by agreed deadlines.
  • Vendor and PRO system records remain accurate and consistent with internal trackers.
  • Invoice and payment checks are completed with clear reconciliation notes and timely escalation of mismatches.
  • Audit remediation trackers and evidence packs are maintained in a way that supports timely response to UK EEE/WEEE audit queries.

Working Relationships

The TPA will work with the EMEA GNE Compliance team as the primary business owner. Regular working partners may include Product Compliance, Seller Operations, Data, Finance, Procurement, Legal or Policy teams, external vendors, and PRO contacts. The role is expected to elevate unclear cases early, keep trackers updated, and maintain a reliable operating rhythm for recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance activities.
