Overview

We are seeking a Data and Research Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping our marketing strategy through data-driven insights and market intelligence. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of analytics and research, and who can translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive growth and improve marketing performance.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Data and Marketing Performance, you will oversee market research initiatives, customer insight projects and marketing data analysis to ensure our strategies are informed, effective and future-focused.

Compensation and terms

Grade 8: £48,235 – £57,255 per annum including the Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per annum

Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Key responsibilities

  • Data & Insights: Drive the collection, analysis and interpretation of marketing data from multiple sources, providing actionable insights that optimise campaigns and support strategic decision-making.
  • Market Research: Design, manage and deliver quantitative and qualitative research projects, including surveys, focus groups and competitor analysis, to inform business growth and innovation.
  • Customer Insights: Develop customer segmentation strategies to enhance targeting, personalisation and engagement across marketing channels.
  • Reporting: Build and maintain dashboards and reports that deliver clear insights into campaign performance, customer behaviour and market trends.
  • Collaboration: Partner with marketing, product development, creative and sales teams to embed insights into strategies, campaigns and new offerings.

Qualifications and experience

You will have strong experience in data analysis and market research, capable of turning insights into actionable strategies that support marketing and business growth. You will be highly skilled in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Power BI or Tableau, and confident in leading both quantitative and qualitative research projects. Additionally, you should have proven expertise in customer segmentation and data interpretation, with a track record of applying insights to improve marketing performance.
