Job Description:

  • FIXED TERM CONTRACT (2 Years)
  • Shift Pattern: 12 hour shifts. 2 x day shifts (6am – 6pm) and 2 night shifts (6pm – 6am) followed by 6 days’ rest. Continuous shift pattern throughout the year.
  • Annual Shut Down: Annual shut down which usually lasts for 1 week. During this period, additional shifts on top of the usual rota are mandatory for all Operators. Rota for this period is released a few weeks prior to the shutdown week. There is a 24 hour shut down once every 5 weeks. During this period, additional shifts are required & mandatory. Additional shifts are stated on the rota when it is issued for the full year (usually issued October for the following year).
  • Annualised Hours: Operators work on an annualised hours’ basis which equates to 2087 hours per annum (including holidays). Excluding holidays, hours to be actually worked are 1831 per annum. Hours are monitored on a monthly basis and are run from January to December.
  • Working Conditions: The working conditions can vary depending on the role being undertaken but examples of types of conditions which can be experienced are as follows; Hot, dusty, wet and noisy. Some circumstances may involve working in confined spaces or at height.
  • Role: Field based role, which at times involves working in a challenging environment that can be physically demanding. Ideal candidate needs to be able to adapt quickly to a process which may change at short notice.
  • Responsibilities: Ensure fulfilment of company Health and Safety policy. Comply with Safety, Quality and Environment regulations. Monitor, maintain and start up plant in order to achieve process continuity in an efficient manner, following safety, quality and environmental regulations established by the company. Notify the Lead Operator and/or Shift Manager of any event that occurs or is detected, which may or could affect process continuity by means of work orders. Notify the Lead Operator and/or Shift Manager of any absence from work due to a work accident/incident. Actively participate in line housekeeping. Form part of the second response team in the event of an emergency. Regularly carry out Total Preventative Maintenance checks to ensure associated plant is running to optimum specification and any defects/issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
