Job Description

Main Responsibilities/Overall Purpose

Saica Group provides sustainable recycled paper, corrugated cardboard, and flexible packaging manufacturing solutions, along with waste management and recovery services. Our values—care, value, and challenge—guide our commitment to sustainability.

The role involves leading technical excellence by collaborating with all SAICA FLEX local technical teams to be recognized as a value-adding, proactive technical and innovation partner for our customers.

Specific Tasks/Accountabilities

  • Apply Group Policies: Equal Opportunities, Environment, Quality, and Health & Safety.
  • Understand customer expectations regarding Sustainability, Product Development, and Value Engineering; communicate these needs within the team to develop suitable technical solutions.
  • Define, execute, and monitor projects as part of the Operational Master Plan (OMP) in coordination with KAM and RSD.
  • Drive Sustainability and Total Cost of Ownership projects, such as Recyclability, LCA, and End-to-End analysis, with support from the Sustainability Manager and MIM team.
  • Lead and coordinate with KAM and technical teams on Value Engineering projects and technical solutions to improve margins for customers.
  • Coordinate trial schedules with site PDEs for new business onboarding and support trials at customer sites when necessary.
  • Respond actively to innovation contests involving SFX.
  • Address major technical issues promptly in coordination with Quality and PDE teams to protect SFX branding.
  • Engage in actions to improve performance, especially through co-innovation with customers.
  • Build relationships with customer R&D communities to position SFX as a preferred partner.
  • Familiarize with customer factories and main lines supplied by SFX.
  • Participate as an executive member in Account Team meetings and support KAM in customer meetings and presentation development.
  • Follow procedures in the SFSS manual regarding the TS role and responsibilities.
  • Ensure effective communication and reporting within Sales & Marketing teams and promote the use of business information systems for reliable reporting.
  • Support induction training for new SFX sales team members and participate in personal training initiatives.

Other Duties

Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the line manager, consistent with the role\’s scope.

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes

  • University degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Polymers and Plastic Science.
  • Understanding of Flexible Packaging.
  • Project management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in sales, product development, or production management within industrial settings, preferably sector-specific experience.
  • At least 1 year in processes related to flexible packaging.
  • Basic training in Q.S.E.
