As a People Graduate within Saica in the UK&I, you will receive a comprehensive 2-year development programme within one of the Saica divisions during which you will learn the business in depth, become familiar with Saica systems, People processes including plant payroll admin and all day-to-day operational HR processes, while contributing to real business projects across UK and Ireland sites. At the end of your 2-year development programme, you may apply for structured roles within the organisation and be considered to continue onto the graduate leadership development programme.

Essential Requirements and skills:

  • This post will require you to travel across our UK, Irish and European sites so the successful candidate will have no issue with travelling for work purposes.
  • Graduates are also expected to undertake placements which may involve living away from your home location.
  • University Degree in Human Resources or other related discipline.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Fluent English language skills – written and verbal.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • You will also need to have an abundance of drive and energy.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of HR processes.
  • Maximum 2 years’ experience within a HR function, although previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given.
  • A second European language (e.g. Spanish or French) would be advantageous but is not essential.

The graduate scheme requires the individual to undertake placements which may take place at any of our UK & Ireland, or on occasion, international, locations. For this position, the first placement will be based in Saica Pack, Livingston, Scotland. Subsequent placements could be in any of our other regions across England, Wales or Ireland. You will receive support towards your living expenses when on temporary placement away from your normal home location. The role will also require periodic business travel to other Saica sites across the Saica group, including to other Countries. You must have the ability to be based at other Saica sites across UKI, Europe or US for extended periods of time in line with Graduate Programme requirements.
