The Role – Despatch Operative
We are currently seeking a Despatch Operative to join our team.
This role is critical to ensuring the safe storage, movement and loading of finished goods while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
As our Despatch Operative you will
- Adhere to all legal requirements and company policies relating to Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
- Carry out pre-shift Fork Lift Truck (FLT) inspections and complete documentation.
- Report FLT defects and equipment breakdowns to the Team Leader.
- Complete behavioural safety observations and report accidents, incidents, near misses or property damage.
- Ensure products, pallets and topboards are stored safely and correctly.
- Maintain safe access to gangways, doors, fire exits and firefighting equipment.
- Monitor product quality and report any presentation, palletisation or labelling concerns.
- Ensure stock is rotated correctly.
- Maintain accurate stock and scanning records within Carpal.
- Transport and handle loads safely in line with company procedures.
- Support Team Leaders in ensuring contractors follow site procedures.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
What We're Looking For
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy operational environment.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and determination to succeed.
- Previous experience as a Forklift Truck Driver or in a similar logistics, warehouse or manufacturing role.
- Experience working within a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic PC literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
