Job Description

As Quality Manager at Saica Flex, you will lead the site Quality agenda, ensuring the deployment of quality strategy, systems, and processes to deliver class‑leading product quality performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Quality agenda and ensure the full deployment of the quality strategy, systems and processes.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day activities of the Quality Team, coordinating activities required to meet company, site and regulatory quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal standards including BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and A2 permit.
  • Develop and improve procedures, documentation & auditing of the quality management system.
  • Work closely with operational and technical colleagues to ensure understanding of responsibilities.
  • Understand customer needs and expectations regarding product quality, integrating these into the quality management system.
  • Maintain the internal audit schedule, take action on recommendations and NCRs and ensure all are closed off appropriately.
  • Ensure the site is always at ‘Audit Ready’ status.
  • Investigate and process customer complaints, managing the corrective and preventive action process.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance metrics and reporting for internal and external purposes (complaints, internal NCRs, in‑house rejects, customer returns, cost of errors and waste).
  • Identify training needs with Line Managers and deliver internal training where appropriate.
  • Communicate regularly with Operations regarding quality issues and attend daily operations meetings to report relevant quality matters.
  • Represent the Quality Department within the Site Leadership Team, contributing to the delivery of site strategy and budget.
  • Develop a culture of compliance, quality and continuous improvement across the site.
  • Manage all site health and safety procedures, ensuring site H&S standards are met.
  • Deliver site Quality induction to all new employees.
  • Continuously develop own knowledge on best practice by networking with colleagues at other sites and keeping abreast of industry and legislative developments.
  • Lead and develop Quality team members, ensuring they receive appropriate support, training, feedback and performance appraisals.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the line manager within the scope of the role.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified BSI Lead Auditor.
  • Six Sigma Practitioner.
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably EFI Radius and SAP.
  • Extensive experience developing and managing quality systems and audit processes, with prior experience in BRC, ISO & food safety standards.
  • Previous experience in the Print/Packaging industry is a distinct advantage.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of operational/production KPIs.
  • Previous line‑management or supervisory experience.
  • Q. S. E. knowledge/training.
  • Considerable exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
  • Fluent English (verbal, written, and technical terminology).
  • Work Experience & Education
  • Experience in People, Quality, and Quality & Environment roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality – required.
