The HSE Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all legislation is adhered to and Saica HSE policies and practices are effective. They will plan, implement, monitor and review the protective and preventative measures required, and work with plant management to minimise operational losses, workplace incidents, accidents and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Applies Group Policies related to Health & Safety, Environment & Equal Opportunities.
- Leads compliance with the Company’s HSE targets/KPIs and serves as the link on these issues with the Saica group.
- Coordinates site Safety Framework activities and associated assessments & improvement programmes.
- Leads site Legal Compliance (H&S & Environmental) programme.
- Leads site Behavioural Safety Observation programme.
- Leads site Risk Assessment programme.
- Maintains ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ethical systems responsibilities & facilitates external certification audits.
- Facilitates Monthly HSE Governance steering meetings.
- Leads site internal HSE Audit programme.
- Facilitates timely updates within Saica HSE reporting systems.
- Leads site incident management programme (hazard reporting, near‑miss investigation, incident investigation).
- Attends meetings to ensure necessary communication with the Operations team.
- Leads site Contractor Management programme.
- Facilitates administrative tasks resulting from the company’s HSE obligations.
- Leads site HSE Improvement activity and provides regular updates to Saica group.
- Controls site waste management programme and associated legal responsibilities.
- Provides regular updates & advises site Operations team on safety, environmental or ethical management requirements.
- Attends UK & Ireland quarterly HSE Governance as site representative.
- Leads site Induction programme.
- Assists where required in site Training activities.
- Facilitates site HSE Briefings.
- Collaborates with Departmental Management involved in the analysis and resolution of incidents/accidents and associated claims.
- Assists with project management/management of change activity on site.
- Facilitates site machinery conformity improvement programme.

- Work Experience in Environment, Health & Safety, Production.
- Education: Adult Education.
