SAIC is seeking an Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Technician to support the US Air Force Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) program at Remote Radar Head (RRH) Staxton Wold / Scarborough, UK. (Position requires a Secret Clearance; target salary is $71k)
COBRA provides for the implementation, integration, development, and delivery of training and technology solutions to support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partner multi-domain operations (MDO) within the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) strategy.
The Electronic Warfare Systems Technician (EWST) provides advanced technical support through the repair, maintenance, calibration, and validation of Electronic Warfare (EW) mission systems and their subcomponents. The EWST applies electronic, mechanical, and RF engineering principles to sustain and verify the performance of complex EW systems that support Threat to Aerospace Operations (TTAO) training.
Duties include:
- Fault isolation, component level repair, emitter calibration, wiring and RF path reconstruction, and validation of system performance parameters in accordance with Technical Orders, engineering specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
- Perform detailed troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of EW mission system assemblies, including RF emitters, radar threat generator subsystems, power supplies, control circuits, electromechanical assemblies, signal distribution components, and digital/analog electronics.
- Conduct precision calibration and alignment of emitters, antenna systems, and associated subassemblies to ensure accurate signal characteristics, power output, modulation patterns, frequency stability, and system timing.
- Validate system functionality using technical documentation, diagnostic tools, and measurement equipment; verify performance against engineering specifications and mission system technical standards.
- Build, modify, inspect, and repair wiring harnesses, RF cabling, power distribution modules, circuit boards, relay panels, electrical connectors, and mechanical housings using approved fabrication techniques.
- Maintain and repair support equipment including generators, trailers, shelters, masts, decoys (inflatable, metal, and electronic), blower systems, and power units essential to system sustainment.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, track component life cycles, maintain calibration records, and update equipment status in accordance with Technical Orders and equipment management requirements.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. government safety, radiation, and HAZMAT standards when servicing high voltage, RF radiating, or heavy mechanical equipment.
- Maintain all required qualifications and certifications and remain fully compliant with U.S./NATO technical documentation and security requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to training, proficiency, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Participate in formal/informal training events as required/directed to maintain tactical/technical skills.
Contract position will support any additional related duties as required.
Qualifications Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians.
- Advanced technical knowledge and troubleshooting expertise related to mission-system equipment.
- Experience developing or managing technician training programs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance and be eligible for NATO Secret indoctrination.
- AA Degree in related discipline and six (6) years; High School and eight (8) years, or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
- US Citizen and Active Secret Clearance.

- Prior experience supporting U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), or EW operations.
- Familiarity with maintenance documentation systems, technical orders, or structured maintenance programs.
- Experience leading maintenance teams in expeditionary or distributed operating environments.
