SAIC is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services in the United Kingdom. If the successful candidate is CONUS located, relocation may be approximately 4 months after completing Government Customer requirements. Relocation assistance is provided if needed as well as housing stipend, cost of living, and other allowances for the duration of the tour.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the operations organization in executing spacecraft integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations.
  • Conduct anomaly support, launch and mission readiness, and end-to-end assessments of changes to space systems architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration and operations of space and ground systems.
  • Conduct technical reviews and assessments of program development and readiness activities.
  • Coordinate recommendations with government stakeholders and support program status reviews.
  • Identify and communicate operational and system engineering risks, issues, opportunities, assumptions, mitigations, and dependencies.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for operations and systems engineering topics, present to a variety of audiences.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with engineers and operators from various contractors and government organizations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field is required (contractual requirement) and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; master’s and seven (7) years or more experience.
  • Demonstrated success performing systems engineering and operational support for SIGINT mission systems.
  • Thorough understanding and application of end-to-end SIGINT collection processes.
  • Experience with Program lifecycle(s) from concept development and design to deployment, operations and maintenance, as well as decommission--Must be familiar with related control gates and associated documentation.
  • Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, tasking process, and ground station characteristics.
  • Knowledge of SIGINT space and ground architecture including mission control and/or mission processing functions.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to proactively address customer requirements with no supervision and expert at defining solutions for broad and/or abstract topics.
  • Must be a polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.
  • Must be able to masterfully collaborate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders and be a consensus builder.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Jira, Confluence.

Desired:

  • Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development and cloud technologies.
