Part of investment in 2020 were the new state of the art laboratories in our centre of excellence for process chemistry and analytical development at the Alderley Park Science Park, situated on the outskirts of Manchester, where we are now looking to expand our team. Our overall team currently consists of >60 multi-disciplinary scientists (chemists, analysts and engineers).
This is a great opportunity to work with an expanding global organisation and work closely with some of the most innovative biotech and pharma companies on their most important programmes.
The role will be based in Alderley Park, Cheshire, UK and will require right to work in the UK.
The Role and Key Responsibilities
You will support the chemistry and analytical laboratory teams in carrying out their day-to-day tasks. Examples of key tasks that you will support with are below.
o Manage stock levels, ordering, receipt, delivery and storage of all laboratory and office consumable items.
o Goods-in and shipping including GMP materials management
o Responsible for the preparation of mobile phases and calibration, qualification and monitoring of equipment for the site teams as required to maintain compliance with schedules.
o Maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment
o Key contact with the site services team and/or external contractors to arrange and manage repairs, maintenance, waste collection, glass washing, lab-coat cleaning and shipping.
o Maintain the laboratory asset list.
Essential Requirements
· Experience of working in, or managing, an organic chemistry or analytical laboratory.
Key attributes
· Well organized with good planning and time management skills.
· Good communication; both written and verbal.
· A team player.
· Conscientious with a can-do attitude with good attention to detail.
· Experience in the use of IT packages such as Microsoft Office.
· Some experience of working in a GxP environment would be beneficial but not essential.
