Creative Social Media Manager

Full-time | Studio-based | Primrose Hill, London NW1 Salary: Competitive, depending on experience, plus benefits

Can you see a film in a fitting, a story in a swatch and a conversation in a beautifully made piece of clothing?

The stories are already here. We are looking for the person who knows how to find them and turn them into social content people want to watch, share and return to.

Sahara is an independent, family-run womenswear brand for the individual, not the crowd.

Our world is one of expressive colour, beautiful fabrics, distinctive silhouettes, global craft, art, culture and women with their own point of view.

We are looking for a bright, imaginative and highly engaged

Creative Social Media Manager to translate that world into intelligent, original content and help shape the next chapter of Sahara in socials.

Based in our beautiful, light filled Design Studio and HQ in Primrose Hill, you will be close to everything: first sketches, new fabrics, fittings, campaign shoots, conversations with designers, arrivals from independent makers, our boutiques and the everyday life of the brand.

That access is what makes this role special. You will not be creating from a distance. You will be there when the stories begin.

What you will own

You will lead Sahara’s organic social presence from the first idea to the final insight, with Instagram and Facebook at its heart - and a thoughtful eye on where Sahara should go next.

You will

  • Shape and deliver a distinctive social strategy and editorial calendar around new collections, campaigns, cultural moments and always-on storytelling.
  • Create compelling social-first content hands-on: developing ideas, styling, filming, photographing, editing, writing and publishing.
  • Bring our world to life through stories about colour, cloth, fit, design, craft, makers, customers, boutiques and behind-the-scenes studio life.
  • Plan and capture content at fittings, shoots, events and stores, spotting opportunities that cannot always be scheduled in advance.
  • Write copy that sounds unmistakably Sahara: warm, intelligent, expressive and human.
  • Build genuine relationships with our community, responding with care and creating reasons for people to join the conversation.
  • Identify relevant creators, artists, stylists and collaborators, helping to develop partnerships that feel authentic to the brand.
  • Work closely with our design, creative, e Commerce, retail and marketing teams so that social thinking begins at the start of a project - not at the end.
  • Use performance data to understand what is connecting, turn insight into stronger creative and communicate results clearly.
  • Protect Sahara’s visual identity and tone of voice while giving both the freedom to evolve.

About you

You are a maker as well as a thinker. You understand the difference between content that is simply polished and content that has a real idea behind it.

You may already be a Social Media Manager, or you might be an exceptional Senior Social or Content Executive ready to take full ownership of a brand.

You will bring

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong taste, original ideas and content that achieved something.
  • Excellent short-form video skills, including the confidence to shoot and edit engaging content yourself.
  • A sharp eye for composition, colour, movement, pacing and detail.
  • Strong copywriting skills and an instinctive understanding of tone.
  • A deep working knowledge of social platforms, formats and audience behaviour.
  • The judgement to know when a trend can become unmistakably Sahara - and when it should be left alone.
  • Confidence using analytics to improve ideas, rather than simply filling a monthly report.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to move comfortably between long-term planning and an unexpected creative opportunity.
  • A collaborative, communicative and generous approach with the confidence to champion your ideas.
  • A real curiosity about fashion, art, craft, design, culture and the women we dress.

Experience within fashion, lifestyle, culture or another design-led consumer brand would be valuable, but great work, sound judgement and genuine creative instinct matter more to us than a perfectly conventional CV.

What you will find at Sahara

A committed and collaborative team.

Direct access to the creative process.

An independent brand with a distinctive point of view and a loyal community.

Most importantly, you will have genuine scope to influence how Sahara looks, sounds and connects with people.

This is a full-time role based in-house at our design studio and HQ in Primrose Hill, London NW1.

Benefits

  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Pension
  • Staff discount
  • Annual bonus
  • Complimentary classes at HOME - a local yoga and pilates studio.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are an equal opportunities employer.

Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
