As the Director of Product Marketing for our Retail Solutions division, including Brightpearl and Inventory Planner products, you\’ll lead marketing strategies that directly address the retail sector\’s specific needs and challenges. Job Description About The Role
As the Director of Product Marketing for our Retail Solutions division, including Brightpearl and Inventory Planner products, you\’ll lead marketing strategies that directly address the retail sector\’s specific needs and challenges. Your role is vital in ensuring Sage\’s products perfectly align with the distinct demands of retail and e-commerce markets.
Your Mission
In collaboration with marketing and sales teams, you\’ll define strategy for effective value propositions and equip our go-to-market teams with the tools needed for success. You\’ll also partner with product management teams to ensure our offerings match market needs and fulfill customer expectations. Leading a team of product marketing managers, you\’ll nurture an environment focused on excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the retail industry strategy, including micro-verticals, to achieve our growth targets
Drive commercial success by developing positioning, value propositions, messaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategies
Craft compelling product marketing narratives that resonate with retail and e-commerce decision-makers
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, customer success, and product teams
Serve as a product evangelist and thought leader at industry events and external communications
Own customer communications around product roadmap updates and strategic initiatives
What You\’ll Achieve in Your First 90 Days:
First 30 Days:
Build relationships with key stakeholders across marketing, sales, partnerships, and product management
Gain deep understanding of our customers and market through sales call participation
Begin updating competitive intelligence and enablement materials
Review existing marketing content to understand the retail and e-commerce landscape
By 60 Days:
Develop comprehensive knowledge of Brightpearl and Inventory Planner products
Understand our product strategy and how it aligns with company messaging
Define our ideal customer profile and value propositions
Begin contributing to sales demonstrations and customer presentations
By 90 Days:
Lead external communications about products and solutions
Own and execute product roadmap communications
Drive PMM initiatives for launches and sales enablement
Define strategic objectives for the next 3-6 months
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of expertise in Product Marketing with at least 4 years of leadership experience
Proven track record leading cross functional teams in a global environment
Demonstrated experience marketing B2B software solutions to business professionals
Strong background in retail and/or e-commerce verticals
Experience in both strategic and hands-on roles, with successful product launches in competitive B2B SaaS markets
Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable speaking to executive leadership and large audiences
Creative mindset with ability to generate and implement innovative marketing ideas
