About our Team
Our team drives recruitment, onboarding and meaningful engagement with the editorial boards of our Gold Open Access journal collection. A new team, we’re building it to be curious, creative and collaborative. We work closely with our editorial, commissioning and marketing teams to build impactful workflows and drive high quality, sustainable growth for Sage’s Open Access journals.
Could you be our new Research Community Engagement Associate? Are you?
- Demonstrable experience profiling, recruiting and engaging editorial board members for scholarly journals, ideally within an Open Access portfolio.
- Proficient with CRM within a publishing environment
- Experienced in data analysis, drawing conclusions and proposing strategic directions from datasets
- Comfortable working outside your field of study, quickly adapting and learning new concepts
- Proactive and critical in proposing improvements to workflows and processes to meet strategic objectives
- Organized and efficient, able to deliver to meet goals.
- An excellent written and verbal communicator, ideally with experience in cross-cultural communication
Your new role:
- Define and implement impactful processes for editorial board recruitment and engagement, in line with the team’s strategic goals.
- Leverage tools like CRM and scholarly databases to compose curated lists of editor candidates, tracking the success of recruitment and onboarding work.
- Develop and implement workflows to funnel engaged, high-impact authors and reviewers into editorial positions.
- Engage editorial boards through a variety of channels, including surveys, newsletters and outreach campaigns.
- Positively challenge current ways-of-working to drive continuous improvement and alignment with the Open Access matrix of teams.
- Participate in and lead inter-team initiatives around wider community engagement and incentivization.
