About the role:
We are expanding our team of Property Inspectors here at Sage Homes, this role will join our Repairs & Voids team. You will be responsible for maintaining the standard and appearance of Sage Homes' properties in a designated area. This field-based role involves regular inspections, ensuring communal areas are in good order, and assisting with responsive, compliance, and defects work. Travel to homes from Peterborough to Norwich, with occasional visits to our Northampton and Covent Garden offices, is required.
Key Duties:
- Conduct property inspections and issue works orders.
- Complete stock condition surveys.
- Contribute to fire safety.
- Perform void, pre-void, and mutual exchange inspections.
- Inspect for damp and mould, advising on necessary actions.
- Monitor and control maintenance contractors' quality and provide feedback.
About you:
- HNC or relevant professional qualification; SSSTS or SMSTS qualified, working towards a building surveying or trade qualification.
- Essential experience as a Property/Home Inspector or related field; desirable experience with Housing Associations or Local Authorities.
- In-depth understanding of residential construction, building codes, safety regulations, and property systems (electrical, plumbing, structural).
- Strong written and verbal communication, excellent customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience working with contractors, issuing work orders, and using schedule of rates.
- Flexible, self-reliant, full driving licence, and use of a car for business purposes.
