Are you an experienced finance professional looking to deepen your accounting expertise in a supportive, high‑performing environment? We are looking for a Fixed Assets Accountant to join our Record to Report (R2R) team within the Sage European Finance Shared Service Centre. As part of the R2R team, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality fixed assets accounting while working closely with performance reporting teams and key business partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with shared service centre experience who wants to expand their technical accounting skills in a collaborative and forward‑thinking finance function. This role offers broad exposure across accounting and support to study in AAT, ACA or CIMA. This is a hybrid role working in the Newcastle office 3 days a week and 2 from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Capitalise assets into the correct asset categories in line with capitalisation rules and Group accounting policies
- Prepare Balance Sheet schedules, reconciliations, and commentary
- Perform month‑end reporting activities and journal processing
- Partner with Performance Reporting teams to support ad hoc queries
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
- Support internal and external audits
- Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts for multiple entities, meeting agreed deadlines
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes and stakeholder interactions
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience working within a finance team (large finance shared service centre experience desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Word and PowerPoint also required)
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solution‑focused mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Resilience and a positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement
