Responsibilities include collaborating closely with product teams to deliver product features to Sage customers, with little to no supervision: deploying artifacts to Pre-prod and Prod, tracking feature releases to help advanced planning. Assess operational risks for product/feature delivery proactively by working closely with product delivery team leads. Identify and engineer proactive measures to get ahead of possible service impairment. Automate manual operational tasks, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and carry out change management requests. Participate as a technical lead in the event of a customer impacting service incident as part of the 24/7 on-call rotation.
This DevOps / Cloud Ops Engineer role is responsible and accountable for Sage's online product portfolio in Sage's Accounting Business unit. This role is expected to collaborate closely with product development teams and other cloud Ops teams to deliver new products and features to Sage customers. The successful candidate would be someone who can thrive on teamwork, attention to detail, is not afraid to speak up in a team setting, introspective, and values everyone's contributions.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud technologies.
- Proficient in writing Python and/or Bash scripts to automate manual tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of the secured SDLC.
- Experience in working in a highly proactive scrum team is desirable.
- Depth of knowledge of MSSQL or MySQL is desirable.
- Excellent communicator - able to articulate complex technical issues in simple terms when communicating with non-technical audiences or Sage business stakeholders.
