The Senior People Compliance Manager will lead the People Workforce Delivery Team, ensuring operational excellence, structured governance, and high-quality delivery of both day-to-day services and strategic People initiatives. This role will oversee Governance, Risk and Compliance activity across the People Function. Working closely with the People Leadership Team, Centres of Excellence, Strategic People Business Partners, and the People Transformation Team, the Senior Operations Manager will embed best-in-class operational practices that balance business-as-usual delivery with the execution of strategic programmes, ensuring the long-term success of Sage's People Operating Model. This role will work in the office 3 days a week and 2 from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage the People Workforce Delivery Team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Provide leadership and operational direction to direct reports.
- Own and manage the end-to-end delivery of the Annual People Cycle, ensuring activities are sequenced, coordinated, and completed on time.
- Align cycle milestones with business priorities, minimising disruption to operations and ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout.
- Monitor progress, resolve issues proactively, and provide regular updates to the CPO Office and People Leadership Team.
- Own and manage day-to-day governance processes, ensuring consistent scheduling, coordination, and documentation of key forums.
- Ensure operational decisions and activities are aligned with the People Transformation Vision and the Operating Model.
- Own the People Function's risk register, ensuring proactive identification, escalation, and mitigation of risks.
- Track compliance against agreed frameworks, processes, and governance standards.
- Implement and maintain consistent project frameworks, toolkits, and operational standards to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Oversee operational services not defined in the People Operations Service Framework, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Own and manage the People Function communications plan to ensure clarity and alignment of messaging.
- Act as a key liaison between the CPO Office, PLT, and operational delivery teams.
Key Skills/Requirements
- Significant experience in senior operational management, ideally within HR or People Operations.
- Strong governance, planning, and organisational skills, with a focus on embedding consistent processes.
- Experience managing risk frameworks and operational reporting at a senior level.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
