The VP Digital E-Commerce leads the UKI digital and ecommerce agenda—owning strategy, execution, and performance across acquisition, conversion, and retention, while translating Sage's long-term vision into in-year results. You'll build and deliver the Go-to-Market plan (including Winning in Small), orchestrate cross-functional execution across Product, Marketing, Sales, and E-commerce, and champion connected customer journeys across web and mobile. You'll own performance and OKRs, drive platform innovation (CRO, personalization, search, speed), and use insight to pivot quickly to hit commercial goals. Reporting to the Interim Chief Growth Officer, you'll develop high-performing teams and rally the wider business behind a customer-first, data-led culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the in-year Go-To-Market (GTM) plan for Winning in Small (UK), shaping the commercial plan and OKRs in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Translate long-term strategy into action, ensuring the GTM plan aligns with the 3- and 1-year strategic direction set by Product Marketing for key Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs).
- Orchestrate end-to-end execution across Product, Marketing, Sales, E-Commerce, and other teams to deliver a seamless, synchronized plan that achieves commercial outcomes.
- Own performance measurement, managing a comprehensive dashboard that tracks OKRs and supporting metrics, and providing insight-driven recommendations to optimize performance.
- Map and optimize the full customer journey for priority ICPs, ensuring connected, high-quality experiences across digital, mobile, and in-product channels.
- Identify opportunities to pivot, using data and customer insight to recommend adjustments that accelerate commercial success.
- Champion cross-company engagement, driving alignment and momentum for initiatives that sit outside traditional teams—including activating ~2,500 UK colleagues in support of the program.
- Proven track record delivering ecommerce sales, margin, and profitability across multiple markets; confident P&L ownership and budget stewardship.
- Strategic leader with experience building multi-region ecommerce and digital trading strategies aligned to global goals and local realities.
- Depth in trade planning and digital merchandising.
- Strong performance marketing expertise across the full channel mix; able to align brand, demand, and efficiency.
- Advanced analytics capability: translating KPIs and customer data into decisions, experiments, and roadmaps.
- Platform and CX innovation mindset: CRO, experimentation frameworks, personalization, search, and speed.
- SEO leadership (content and technical), partnering effectively with internal teams and agencies.
- Agile software ways of working: experience in a Tier-1 global software environment is highly desirable.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication builds trust, alignment, and momentum across Product, Marketing, Sales, Tech, Finance, and CS.
- People leadership excellence: hiring, coaching, and inspiring teams; creating a culture of ownership, learning, and performance.
