We're looking for a Simulation Consultant to deliver simulation projects that help our clients improve performance, reduce risk, and make better-informed operational and investment decisions.

You'll combine strong technical modelling expertise with consulting and project delivery skills to turn complex business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you'll take ownership of standard simulation projects from initial requirements gathering through to analysis and final recommendations.

You'll apply established simulation methodologies and best practice while working closely with clients to understand their challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes.

For larger and more complex engagements, you'll work alongside senior consultants and contribute to multidisciplinary project teams, gaining exposure to a variety of industries, challenges, and simulation applications.

You will

  • Successfully identify and complete all relevant training, both internal and external, maintaining and developing simulation, consultancy and project delivery competencies.
  • Lead the delivery of standard simulation consulting projects from initiation through to completion.

Develop project plans, manage activities against agreed budgets and schedules, coordinate project tasks, monitor risks and assumptions, and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders.

Escalate issues appropriately where additional support is required.

  • Facilitate client workshops and requirements-gathering activities to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, data requirements and success criteria.

Develop conceptual models and solution designs that accurately reflect client operations and business questions.

  • Design, build, verify and document discrete event simulation models to an agreed specification.

Collect, analyse and structure client data, implement appropriate logic and distributions, conduct experimentation, and interpret results to generate robust recommendations.

  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure simulation models are credible, robust, traceable and fit for purpose, whilst maintaining appropriate documentation and quality standards.

  • Act as the primary day-to-day client contact on standard engagements.

Maintain professional client relationships through regular communication, managing expectations, presenting findings, and ensuring alignment throughout project delivery.

  • Support Account Managers and senior colleagues with technical discussions, demonstrations, proposals, estimates, proof-of-concept activities and bid responses.

Contribute to developing simulation opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.

  • Deliver standard simulation software and simulation methodology training courses.

Contribute to case studies, internal process improvements, reusable modelling assets, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that strengthen team capability.

  • Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.
  • Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.

We are looking for

Experience and Knowledge

  • 3-5 years' experience in a simulation consultancy, operational improvement consultancy, or similar analytical consulting environment.
  • Experience delivering discrete event simulation projects through the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and conceptual design through to implementation, experimentation and presentation of findings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Data handling and analysis - Excel to an advanced level; data preparation / SQL.
  • Flexibility to travel to support clients and project delivery.
  • Proven training or accreditation in a recognised DES tool (e. g.

Flex Sim, Any Logic, Plant Simulation, Witness, Simio or Simul8), or willingness to complete training within probation.
