As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for gathering and understanding the business needs of our client for a specific project or change initiative. You will work with the wider Project team to ensure your deliverables are completed in line with the agreed scope and timescales. In addition, you must think about these plans from a strategic perspective in relation to other initiatives being worked on by the client and with other Sagacity initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding business strategies and goals, articulating problem statements and executing solutions.
- Leading the development of comprehensive business cases to support the initiation of new projects, changes or improvement initiatives ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Documenting and mapping of 'As Is' and 'To Be' operational processes and procedures including interviewing SMEs, conducting workshops and gaining process approvals.
- Identification and quantification of process improvements e.g. opportunities for efficiencies, system change/automation, use of additional data, governance and reporting.
- Understanding and mapping customer journeys, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensuring that Business Requirements are fully developed, documented and prioritised with acceptance criteria.
- Leading the business analysis activities including working with client and third-party supplier business analysts and technical teams, ensuring project governance is adhered to.
- Quality checking personal deliverables (and for fellow team members).
- Identifying opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
- Designing potential solutions to complex problems identified and demonstrating the ability to influence the business to show how the proposed solutions will deliver benefits and solve the problem identified.
- Identifying and submitting client development opportunities to the Commercial Product Management, Customer Engagement and Client Services Teams for increased sales opportunities.
Requirements:
- c. 5+ years experience in a Business Analyst role, ideally within a financial institution, telco or utilities provider.
- Working experience of project and analysis techniques and supporting tools for requirement definition and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, interviewing and presentation skills.
- Highly competent at integrating with a team(s) and building relationships and rapport with clients.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- High competency in applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Outlook, Teams, Jira, Confluence.
- Extensive knowledge of project delivery approaches such as Waterfall / Agile / Hybrid.
- Extremely high competency and knowledge of Business Analysis Methodologies such as Business Process Modelling (BPM), MoSCoW, MOST, Six Sigma, Lean, Wireframes, CATWOE, Entity Relationships, PESTLE, The 5 Whys etc., supported by relevant qualifications.
- Exceptional people skills, including experience of mentoring less experienced roles, involvement in recruitment and potentially Line Manager responsibilities.
