Saga is excited to be recruiting for an entry level role for a recent graduate or candidate looking to embark on a new career path focussing on developing new business channels in an existing successful business model.

Working as our New Business & Partnership Executive, you will be the researcher and initial relationship builder with potential new partnerships models. This could be for any product or service aimed at our UK consumer base.

At Saga we currently deliver exceptional products and services to meet the needs of older people across Cruise, Travel, Insurance, Financial products and our long-standing magazine. As a brand we have a distinctive strength in this space serving the over 50’s in the UK. We are committed and ambitious to grow our offering to serve a wider market to satisfy the growing needs of the mature customer market.

We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. In this team we work mainly from Folkestone 2 or 3 days in the office and the rest at home. When we do come together as a team, it allows us to grow and learn plus it is a great opportunity to socialise and celebrate too!

Role Responsibility

You will be supporting new business & partnership development for Saga Plc. You’ll work in a small, newly formed team in Saga that is actively assessing the market for products and services that are aligned to our core values and customer needs and aspirations, then to launch them to our customer base with the support of the wider marketing and operations teams.

As the first New Business & Partnership Executive, you will be accountable for the following:

• Market scoping: Providing market assessment and intelligence which will allow Saga to assess the size of the opportunity across a variety of sectors

• Partner selection: Identifying prospective partners, making initial contact, qualifying leads and setting up meetings

• Project planning: Building project plans across multiple workstreams to ensure that the team makes progress against its agreed deadlines

• Commercial modelling: Assisting the team to prepare business cases which will deliver successful commercial outcomes for both Saga and our partners

• Marketing and promotion: Work with the partnerships manager to prepare marketing plans and collateral which will drive awareness & consideration for our new products

• Reporting: Work with our partners to produce timely and accurate reporting which will allow us to track the success of our new products, and suggesting actions to maximise sales performance where needed

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking candidates who can quickly get to grips with our market and understand the needs of our customers. Help the team to discover new business channel concepts and then how to navigate the market / product of interest. You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;

• A good commercial acumen and ability to build long term relationships ideally in a B2B setting.

• Have a strong interest or some previous experience in Sales and Marketing.

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the ability to make engaging presentations and deliver them to small groups.

• To be proactive and adaptable – able to progress multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on delivering positive outcomes.

• Highly organised and keep on track of new business developments and outcomes.

• Confident to approach new business channels in a B2B environment.

• Excellent people skills – builds and maintains relationships at all levels of the organisation. (internal & external)

• Be a recent graduate looking for exposure in a Plc environment.
