Saga Plc. is expanding our people team with a Social Value Co-ordinator on an initial 12-month contract. In this newly formed role, you will be reporting directly to our ESG and Sustainability Manager to develop and coordinate our social value framework. While experience in a similar role would be advantageous, we are interested in speaking to candidates who have the passion and enthusiasm to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

As our Social Value Co-ordinator, you will be at the heart of both Saga and our local Folkestone Community. We would expect a regular presence in our Sandgate office. This role will require travel across the local community, visiting charities, schools, networks, and community groups. You must have a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle. As this role could work with vulnerable people, an enhanced DBS will be required in addition to our standard background checks.

Role Responsibility

  • Champion social value and positive impact internally within Saga and externally within the community.
  • Support in the development of a framework to provide a consistent approach to how social value is delivered at Saga.
  • Coordinate the implementation of social value initiatives per the organisation strategy and stakeholder requirements.
  • Engage with local communities, charities, schools, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for social impact.
  • Manage existing relationships and deliver new partnerships to enhance or deliver greater impact.
  • Engage with internal teams and supply chain partners to promote and facilitate participation of social value projects.
  • Manage and evaluate social value outcomes using recognised frameworks.
  • Collect and analyse data to produce monthly and quarterly reports on ESG performance including social impact.
  • Assist in writing case studies, success stories and reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Organise and attend community engagement events, volunteering days, and social impact activities.
  • Create materials and case studies to promote the social value delivered by Saga.
  • Support the wider ESG agenda through completing disclosures, reporting and monitoring of performance.
  • Support Business Units and functions to drive delivery of ESG initiatives in alignment with the wider ESG strategy.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a passion for social value and giving back to the local community in Folkestone and beyond. You will be a natural communicator who thrives on working with a diverse range of people. While experience working or volunteering with vulnerable people isn't essential, it would be an advantage.
