Saga Plc. Are delighted to be expanding our people team with a Social Value Co-ordinator on an initial 12 month contract.

In this newly formed role, you will be reporting directly to our ESG and Sustainability Manager to develop and coordinate our social value framework. Whilst experience in a similar role would be of advantage, we are interested in speaking to candidates who have the passion and enthusiasm to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Saga has strong historical ties to Folkestone, having been founded there in 1951. Our iconic office in Folkestone is considered our spiritual home and as a group with strive to leave a positive legacy on the community in which we operate.

As our Social Value Co-ordinator, you will be at the heart of both Saga and our local Folkestone Community. We would expect a regular presence in our Sandgate office.

This role will require travel across the local community, visiting charities, schools, networks, and community groups. You must have a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle. As this role could work with vulnerable people, an enhanced DBS will be required in addition to our standard background checks.

Role Responsibility

As our Social Value Co-ordinator you will champion social value and positive impact internally within Saga and externally within the community.

Other accountabilities will include

• Supporting in the development of a framework to provide a consistent approach to how social value is delivered at Saga.

• Coordinating the implementation of social value initiatives per the organisation strategy and stakeholder requirements.

• Engaging with local communities, charities, schools, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for social impact.

• Managing existing relationships and delivering new partnerships to enhance or deliver greater impact.

• Engaging with internal teams and supply chain partners to promote and facilitate participation of social value projects.

• Managing and evaluating social value outcomes using recognised frameworks

• Collecting and analysing data to produce monthly and quarterly reports on ESG performance including social impact.

• Assisting in writing case studies, success stories and reports for internal and external audiences

• Organising and attending community engagement events, volunteering days, and social impact activities

• Creating materials and case studies to promote the social value delivered by Saga.

• Supporting the wider ESG agenda through completing disclosures, reporting and monitoring of performance.

• Supporting Business Units and functions to drive delivery of ESG initiatives in alignment with the wider ESG strategy.

The Ideal Candidate

As our new Social Value Co-ordinator, you will have a passion for social value and giving back to the local community in Folkestone and beyond.

You will be a natural communicator who thrives on working with a diverse range of people. While experience working or volunteering with vulnerable people isn\’t essential, it would be an advantage.

Operational skills required include:

• Creativity and adaptability

• Confident working with a variety of stakeholders, including community groups, clients, and internal departments
