As a Risk Manager you will support and deliver 2nd line oversight, challenge, advice for Technology workstreams and deliverables as part of a transformation programme.
Following Saga’s recent announcement to partner with Ageas in early 2026, you will work with our Technology teams to ensure a seamless transition to Ageas whilst mitigating and managing enterprise risk.
We offer flexibility over where you work and you can choose a place that you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London or Folkestone. There will be a small hybrid element to this role, meeting on an ad hoc basis at our King Cross office in London.
Role Responsibility
As 2nd line Technology Risk Specialist who will operate alongside the technology delivery teams.
Other accountabilities include:
- To review, challenge, and opine on: Requirements documentation, technology delivery plans, technology mitigation strategies, system resilience and security arrangements, delivery controls, business engagement and collaboration culture with technology, testing plans, quality control gates, failover planning.
- Liaise with the technology delivery teams and workstream owners to assess the levels of risk associated with each deliverable.
- Provide in-the-moment escalations and communications channel as well as regular reporting to the 2nd line and to PMO on risk statuses and risk issues.
- Identify risks and issues as and before they arise, acting as the ‘what have we missed’ and ‘what could go wrong’ counsel to technology.
The Ideal Candidate
As a Risk Manager, you would have a detailed understanding of risk frameworks and mitigation strategies.
While experience in the Insurance industry isn’t essential, having experience in financial services and/or a regulated environment will be a distinct advantage.
Operational skills required include:
- Ability to understand business context
- Flexible and focused on practical outputs
- Able to support decision making
- Ability to navigate stakeholders and communicate at all levels
- Experience of working in Enterprise strategic programme deliveries
