A great opportunity to join an award-winning specialist travel business within Saga Plc. Here at Saga Travel Group, we organise an array of overseas products for our customers: Hosted Hotel Stays and Group Tours.

Our Finance Operation is fast-paced with high-volume transactions. We need a seasoned technical Finance Analyst to join our growing team. The transactional day-to-day processing team is based overseas. This allows the UK team to be more focused on analysis and reporting. The team is made up of a Finance Manager in the UK and an AP Manager overseas, with an AP senior, an AR Assistant, and banking in the UK.

You will work closely with the Finance Managers and our Head of Operational Finance to monitor and correct the balance sheet, identify margin leakages, and identify areas in the reporting process that need improvements. This role is Hybrid working, your main working hub will be Folkestone, Kent. Occasionally, you may be asked to visit the London or Crawley office. You will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance to our Folkestone Hub. Free Car Parking on site.

Main Responsibilities

Our Finance Analyst will be responsible for the full analysis of various types of transactions across our travel business Operation, therefore you will need to be comfortable in a business partnering role and be able to cover the following areas:

  • Providing analysis to management on monthly and YTD
  • Liaising with other teams across the business to ensure supplier reclaims are complete and correct
  • Work closely with our Customer Service department to monitor supplier reclaims or refunds
  • Analysis commitment flight costs and report to the business
  • Checking for duplicate invoices or anomalies
  • Continuously monitor the cancellations and reporting
  • Full analysis of the aged debt report
  • Monitoring and reviewing the reports from our card transaction provider
  • Supporting AP and AR function in the team when required

The Ideal Candidate

We need our Finance Analyst to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Have previously worked as a Finance Analyst across a large transactional operation, ideally within a travel business
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with peers and senior management
  • Able to facilitate change in a business operation
  • Expert knowledge on Excel
  • A critical thinker and able to analyse financial data and balance sheets
  • Can demonstrate Business Partnering skills
  • Can learn and understand travel reporting regulations
