We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Facilities team as Refrigeration Engineer at our Wolverhampton site. This role offers a great opportunity to join a high-performance aerospace environment as a key technical expert in refrigeration and HVAC systems. This is a hands-on and strategic position combining technical expertise, contractor management, and optimisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for all refrigeration and air conditioning systems across the site(s)
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of refrigeration plant, AC systems, and cooling towers
  • Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) strategies
  • Manage and oversee specialist contractors, ensuring quality, value for money, and adherence to scope
  • Review and challenge contractor quotations and scopes of work to control costs
  • Support audits and inspections, ensuring all systems meet regulatory and internal standards
  • Identify opportunities for system optimisation, energy efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the wider engineering team

Experience required includes:

  • Experience in industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems, ideally including large chillers and complex installations
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance (F-Gas, pressure systems, water hygiene/legionella)
  • Experience in managing contractors, including reviewing and challenging quotations
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement and optimise system performance
