Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering the challenging, but exciting opportunity within our Quality Department. This role will lead the Assembly Quality team but will also allow for future development into other Quality roles such as Program Quality Manager.

This role leads a team of five quality professionals to support the day-to-day running of the quality management system, ensuring that products are assembled in line with specified requirements and to act as the independent monitoring function.
As part of the quality leadership team, you will help define, communicate and drive the production quality improvement strategy for the site, interact and support other internal departments from Engineering through Operations to Customer Support and have the capability to be customer and executive committee facing.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Taking site level objectives and translating them into a Quality Improvement Plan including interrogating data for trends.
- Support and drive robust industrialisation of new products or process changes including APQP principles.
- Lead quality investigations into product and process non-conformance root causes within Assembly and logistics environments using tools such as 8D, Ishikawa and 5 whys and ensure the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct internal product and process audits and represent quality in external audits.
- Ensure customer, regulatory and internal requirements are maintained and foster a culture of continuous improvement and a quality mindset.
- Timely response to internal and external customer requests for support and guidance to resolve issues without compromising compliance or product safety.
What do I need to succeed in the role?
- Experienced team manager or supervisor with the ability to grow team capabilities and represent the function.
- Coaching and mentoring skills to drive a customer and product safety mindset.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
- Securing timely results in a fluid environment whilst dealing with competing demands.
- Ability to deliver from start to finish with minimal oversight.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and where appropriate, escalate issues to resolution.
- Personal integrity - product safety focus.
- Experience of investigations using root cause analysis tools to robustly prevent recurrence including the ability to lead and energise a multi-functional team.
Advantageous skills include:
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and EASA Part 21G, in a production environment.
- Internal Audit qualification (AS9100), Lead Auditor preferred.
- A proven track record on quality engagement in industrialisation.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
- Capability to develop and deliver training.
