Leads systems engineering development activities, ensuring technical and process compliance. Delivers allocated activities to budget and schedule, defines systems requirements and system architecture, defines system test plan and procedures, executes systems tests, and ensures configurations are managed. Provides status reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Works to ensure systems are fit for purpose and compliant with requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering development activities with focus on technical and process compliance
- Deliver allocated activities to budget and schedule
- Define systems requirements and system architecture
- Define system test plan and procedures, and execute system tests
- Deliver systems to Safran processes that are fit for purpose and compliant with requirements
- Provide status reporting and updates to internal/external stakeholders
- Ensure product/system configuration is managed and maintained (e.g., permits/concessions/PRs)
- Manage risk and implement mitigation activities
- Compile and collate documentation for Safety of Flight / Certification
Candidate skills & requirements
Essential: A degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience; experience of the Verification & Validation (V&V) development cycle. Understanding of product development processes including interfaces between engineering disciplines and other teams (Test Equipment, Operations, Business Development, etc.). Planning and risk mitigation ability; delegation and supervision ability. Ability to work well under pressure; excellent customer-facing skills. Understanding of product design and development costs (Non-Recurring Costs). Ability to lead people onsite and offsite (international setting). Competent with IT software tools (e.g., MS Office). Comfortable presenting to internal/external stakeholders; ability to coach junior team members. Organised with excellent time and project management skills. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Desirable: Understanding of Airworthiness requirements & Certification process; familiarity with relevant engineering software tools. Experience of working with Engineering service suppliers (e.g., defining Statements of Work and approving deliverables).
