Join Us as an NDT Technician
In this specialist role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the integrity and quality of our production components. Working across multiple non‑destructive testing (NDT) disciplines, you'll support both in‑service investigations and development testing, while contributing to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Rotating across day, bridging and night shifts, you'll be part of a skilled and collaborative team committed to maintaining the highest standards in safety, performance and reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out magnetic flaw detection, penetrant flaw detection and acid etch inspection of steel components as part of the core NDT process flow.
- Support investigations from in‑service and test environments in collaboration with the Engineering Materials Laboratory and Test Engineering teams.
- Undertake additional disciplines such as acid etch inspection for titanium alloys and Barkhausen noise inspection as required.
- Work closely with internal customers to support corrective actions and resolve non‑conformations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support NADCAP audit activity and assist with calibration oversight across NDT equipment.
What You’ll Bring
- Completion of an engineering apprenticeship and qualification to at least ONC/HNC level in mechanical or production engineering.
- Current or recent (within the last 12 months) Level 2 NDT certification in at least one of: magnetic, penetrant or acid etch inspection methods under EN4179, NAS410, ASNT or PCN – ideally holding all three.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- A proactive mindset, with the initiative to solve problems and support process improvements.
- Flexibility to rotate across day, bridging and night shifts as part of the wider NDT team.
