As IPT Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians and ensuring product designs meet manufacturing and assembly requirements. You will have a solid background in new product introduction from a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities will include:
– Support design reviews at appropriate levels; communicate, log, and resolve issues.
– Drive team to highlight and eliminate design for assembly/manufacture issues at key stages.
– Work with engineering functions to define development build requirements and ensure proper execution.
– Conduct make vs buy activities; review strategies with purchasing and propose changes.
– Develop production strategies with operations to meet customer requirements and estimate CAPEX for tooling.
– Eliminate wastes during design and train team in lean methodology.
– Compile and release APQP & PPAP documentation on time and to quality standards.
– Complete PFMEAs and close actions; stay updated on aerospace standards.
– Collaborate with systems engineering for validation and verification requirements.
– Identify and budget for tools and equipment, considering functional, ergonomic, and safety requirements.
– Plan and achieve industrialisation deliverables for key project milestones.
– Resolve industrialisation and production issues before BOM release.
– Conduct root cause analysis and organize teams for issue resolution.
– Approve engineering drawings considering tolerances\’ effects on assembly.
– Manage industrialisation timing plans and resource requirements.
– Keep programmes on track per schedule and departmental gates.
