Responsibilities
- Serve as the focal point for engineering to operations and product support within SEP to maintain status and priority information for stakeholders.
- Ensure engineering investigation action plans are well structured, managed and substantiated to enable clear and quick program decisions and avoid line stops.
- Represent the engineering function at daily production escalation stand‑up meetings (module QRQC) to provide proactive engineering support and action feedback.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all key stakeholders and the Engineering function for effective communication.
- Maintain close alignment with the Configuration Management team and participate in change management board reviews to properly address and control in‑service product modifications.
- Provide engineering input to budget forecasting activities to support accurate budget planning.
- Run or lead projects to improve reliability and FTPR, supporting SQA and SRPM in supplier investigations for design issues.
- Ensure the Local Bond MRB is supported and QNs are actioned in a timely manner.
- Lead and complete PRs, CRS and Permits within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
- Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Self‑sufficient and largely self‑motivated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for all levels of staff, including direct reports and external customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet program deadlines.
- Extensive design experience, especially with rotating equipment, shafts, bearings, seals and structures.
- Proficiency with state‑of‑the‑art 3D CAD software.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project).
- Knowledge of electrical machines and engineering materials and production methods relevant to the role.
- Ability to produce designs that consider design to cost, and ease of manufacture and assembly.
- Strong time management and proactive prioritisation skills.
- Capability to produce and deliver technical presentations to employees and customers at any level.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management at all levels, both internally and externally.

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, the role is initially for 6 months, inside IR35 and based full time onsite at our customer site in Pitstone.
The position offers onsite subsidised canteen, midday breaks and Friday finish.
