As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the technical authority for a defined manufacturing domain or module. As part of a global group and the heart of Safran's Power Division, Safran Electrical & Power is one of the world's leaders in aircraft electrical systems. We believe that future aircraft power systems will be hybrid-electric or full-electric, which is why we are developing advanced electrical solutions to help decarbonise flight. In addition to supporting the next generation of traditional aircraft, we are also working to support new Vertical Take-off and landing aircraft, light jets that will revolutionise the way we fly.
As Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness, and compliance with industrial and regulatory standards.
- Provide expert-level technical guidance and act as the escalation point for complex manufacturing issues.
- Oversee key manufacturing process documentation including Work Instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, routings, and layouts.
- Lead industrialisation strategy for new and existing products to ensure long-term manufacturability.
- Champion problem-solving maturity across the site, coaching teams in 8D, 5-Why and RCA methods.
- Define manufacturing technology roadmaps, including automation, digitalisation, and advanced tooling.
- Represent Manufacturing Engineering in audits, governance boards and customer/leadership reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable performance improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or other related engineering field.
- Demonstrable experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in a regulated industry.
- Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and process simulation tools.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
