What does the role look like? Our Engineering Graduate Development Programme is designed to find and develop Safran’s next generation of engineers and technical leaders. Over three years, you’ll gain the skills, experience, and knowledge to make a real impact in the design and development of advanced aerospace systems. Based at our Wolverhampton site, you’ll rotate through a variety of engineering functions — from design and analysis to testing and continuous improvement — allowing you to discover where your strengths and interests lie. Each rotation gives you the chance to work on live projects that contribute directly to the development of real aircraft systems, supported by mentors and technical experts across the business. You’ll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges, develop your professional and soft skills, and be encouraged to innovate as part of a collaborative team that’s shaping the future of aerospace technology. What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like? * Working on live aerospace projects and contributing to the design, development, and testing of aircraft actuation systems. * Applying your academic knowledge and problem-solving skills in a real-world environment. * Gaining hands-on experience across multiple engineering functions through planned rotations. * Supporting continuous improvement and innovation across products, tools, and processes. * Enrolling on an IMechE, RAeS, IET, or IOM3 accredited Development Programme, working towards professional registration (IEng/CEng). * Taking part in STEM outreach and engagement initiatives, both internally and with local organisations. What will you bring to the role? Essential skills: * A minimum 2:1 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or due to achieve by September 2026). * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation. * Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Desirable skills: * Prior industrial experience (summer internship or placement). * Familiarity with engineering software such as CATIA, Abaqus, or MATLAB. * Demonstrated enthusiasm for engineering and creative problem-solving. * A focus on sustainability and advancing aerospace technology. * Good self-organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
