The Engineering, Compliance & CI Director is a newly created position within the senior management team of our Landing Gear MRO operations. You will develop and execute local strategies whilst embedding our values through your leadership, contributing to a positive, improvement-based culture. As part of your role, you will oversee regulatory compliance (H&S and Quality) and adherence to technical standards whilst improving processes across the organisation to enhance performance and support operational excellence. What will I be doing?

This is a multifaceted role, where you will be accountable for both strategy and execution of some of our core MRO business operations, including:

  • Quality: Working with the Accountable Manager to ensure regulatory compliance. Day-to-day oversight of Compliance activities referenced in our Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
  • HSE: Responsible for compliance to UK Legislation and SAFRAN Group Standards. Ensuring the Health and Safety of those working on site. Energy/Carbon Reduction lead. Proactively promote the HS&E agenda with the HSE Lead by developing plans, campaigns, identify training needs, participate in committees. Complete robust analysis and actions to address risks and any accidents on-site.
  • CI/Engineering: Manage and facilitate Engineering & Continuous Improvement activities (including IS projects) and initiatives across the organisation with accountability for strategy design and project implementation to enhance processes.
  • Cultural change: Champion a company-wide culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement by fostering engagement and leading change management activities.
  • Process Excellence: You have overall responsibility for the framework (training, delivery, maintenance of the training/skills matrix, competence reviews, 4* Trainers).

What do I need to succeed in the role?

You will need to be a proven leader and strategic thinker, with the ability to lead, influence, and motivate cross-functional teams at all levels of the organisation. We can provide training on Safran specific product and processes, but you will need to be equipped with the ability to analyse complex situations, identify opportunities and threats, and translate strategic goals into operational plans.

Knowledge and experience of working with aviation regulators (CAA, EASA, FAA) and Part 145 regulations. Awareness of AS9100 assessment tools. In-depth knowledge of Aerospace Overhaul processes Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) and Repair Concession (RC) process knowledge. Continuous Improvement experience, ideally Blackbelt (certified or working towards). Strong statistical and analytical skills. Energy and decarbonisation knowledge (prepared to support through training). Knowledge of (and preferably qualified) in NEBOSH. Working knowledge of ISO OHSAS 18001, BSI ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management Systems and Safran HSE Standards.
