The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
As part of the Operations Salvage Team, the Strip Operative is responsible for dismantling aircraft landing gears down to individual components. This includes stripping paint and cleaning parts to deliver on time to Inspection, NDT and MFF process areas. You’ll work with the latest equipment and gain valuable experience in aircraft production.
Key Responsibilities
- Dismantle mechanical parts of aircraft landing gear, including paint stripping, degreasing and cleaning components.
- Set up and use general hand, pneumatic and small electrical tooling.
- Follow component maintenance manuals and engineering layout information for disassembly.
- Operate forklift and use appropriate equipment safely.
- Conform to COSHH regulations and safe use of chemicals.
- Work shift rotations comprising of days, late, nights and, when required, weekends.
- Assist in new tooling design and set up fixtures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce shop processing times and manufacturing hours.
- Maintain high quality awareness and excellent communication skills.
