Safran Landing Systems is a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, serving commercial, business, and military fleets. The Procurement Manager will support the supply chain at our Gloucester site, ensuring that goods and services are ordered, managed, and delivered on time to support production.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers’ delivery and quality performance
- Lead a team of 9 Procurement Leaders to deliver SLS needs, achieving 90% on‑time, in‑full delivery
- Develop relationships with suppliers/partners and implement improvement initiatives, including risk assessments, mitigation, and escalation activities
- Identify, manage, and communicate supply‑chain risks that may impact business plans
- Assess suppliers’ organisation and management to satisfy SLS needs
- Ensure weekly procurement rituals (e.g., order placement, acknowledgment) meet MPS requirements
- Manage and optimise budget and inventory levels, and flow down company targets to the team
- Represent the SLS Site Head of Supply Chain in their absence, in conjunction with other department managers
- Attend supplier locations in the UK and internationally to support business needs
- Maintain financial internal budget adherence and expediting costs
Qualifications
- Minimum of a degree level in a relevant discipline and/or CIPS qualification, or equivalent training and experience
- Working knowledge of SAP (essential)
- Five years of procurement or supply‑chain experience
- International contract awareness and supplier‑relationship building experience
- Hands‑on management style with a proven ability to act as a team player and leader
- Strong analytical, organisational, planning, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and motivate others to make changes within a business environment at all levels
- Technical understanding of manufacturing supply chains
