Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly & Test) – Banbury, UK
You will provide proactive and customer‑focused day‑to‑day support to operations at the Banbury facility and support various operational projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day support to operations, ensuring safety, quality and output targets are met
- Author, implement and maintain a robust “standard work” process deck that meets stringent quality management system requirements
- Ensure manufacturing methods and processes within the facility are capable of meeting quality, delivery, cost and lead‑time requirements
- Develop, improve and bring innovation to the manufacturing process, including trial and implementation of new technologies
- Lead or support quality issue investigations, providing robust containment actions and root‑cause analysis to implement permanent corrective actions
- Lead implementation of solutions that reduce manufacturing cost and improve productivity
Qualifications
- Experience working with configuration control systems
- Experience authoring clear and concise standard operating procedures
- Understanding of manufacturing systems, production flow lines and introduction of new technologies
- Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment such as go/no‑go gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges and CMM software (bonus)
- Knowledge of Lean principles, tools and techniques
- Experience planning and coordinating work activities
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, reports and metrology reports
- Methodical, data‑driven approach
- Awareness of current EH&S legislation (COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, etc.)
- Good understanding of production quality issues and impact of processes/equipment
