A key management position, the Compliance & Safety Manager is responsible for Quality and Health & Safety at our MRO site in Gloucester. The purpose of the role is to:
- Ensure the Health and Safety of employees and visitors on‑site whilst managing environmental risk associated with onsite processing activities and compliance with UK legislation and Safran Group Standards.
- Maintain compliance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and Part 145 regulator obligations. This role is the nominated Compliance Post Holder and reports directly to the Accountable Manager for these activities.

What will I be doing?
Quality Management
- Act as the nominated person ensuring compliance with Part 145 regulations for our approved maintenance organisation
- Maintain the Quality Management System
- Manage internal, regulatory, customer and supplier audits in accordance with agreed schedules
- Maintain records and archives management
- Serve as Site Risk Representative, supporting and guiding Safran Enterprise Risk Management
- Identify and lead improvement activities through exposure to business processes and people
Health & Safety Responsibility
- Accountable for compliance with UK legislation and SAFRAN Group Standards, ensuring the Health and Safety of those working on site and managing environmental risk
- Enhance the safety culture across the site by developing and maintaining HSE policies and procedures and driving their adoption across all teams
- Collaborate with Facilities & Maintenance Team to meet Plant/Equipment compliance requirements for health, safety and environmental regulations
- Own risk assessment and GPI, cascade into the business and ensure process adherence and outcome analysis
- Maintain ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications; lead ISO 45001 and ASI certification process
- Oversee internal audits, inspections and manage resolutions
What do I need to succeed in the role?
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with aviation regulators (CAA, EASA, FAA) and Part 145 regulations, with prior audit leadership experience
- Awareness of AS9100 assessment tools
- In‑depth knowledge of Landing Gear Overhaul processes and approved maintenance data (Component Maintenance Manuals)
- Regulatory audit experience; Member of CQI or equivalent (desired)
- Knowledge of, or preferred qualification in, NEBOSH
- Working knowledge of ISO OHSAS 18001, BSI ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management Systems and Safran HSE Standards
- Policy development and management skills
- Risk assessment and mitigation expertise
- Comfortable presenting at all organisational levels
- Strong problem‑solving and cause‑and‑effect analysis systems knowledge
- Confident, driven, excellent communicator with a hands‑on approach
- Strong statistical and analytical skills; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
